A crow tengu on a branch, 烏天狗 beneath it. White on black.

烏天狗 is karasu tengu, the crow tengu. Tengu are the spirits of the mountains in Japanese belief, and the crow tengu is the older form: a bird’s beak and wings on a human body, dressed like a yamabushi, the ascetics who trained in the same mountains. They are known as masters of the sword and the staff. The story of the young Yoshitsune learning to fight from the tengu of Mount Kurama is the best known of many.
Here one crouches on a branch, wings open, looking down. Printed large across the back, with the wordmark at the left chest.
